Job Purpose:

To provide business risk management for all Edinburgh related Investor services provided to the UK Insurance, Pensions and Funds Industry with focus on regulatory risk, contractual risk, accounting risk and risk related to the regulatory and accounting responsibilities of our clients and their investors.

The position will also oversee all internal related risk processes to ensure business end to end compliance and build and maintain the highest level of businesses risk management and audit control for the Edinburgh franchise.

The position reports to the Business Management Head responsible for the Investor Services franchise in Edinburgh.

This is a regional role located in London/Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage risk management framework including ‘responsibility transformation' from legal contract/ relevant UK legislation / accounting standards to operating memorandum to operational functions
  • Monitor all client contractual, regulatory, accounting, responsibilities, potential risk drivers and change processes i.e. regulatory or client contractual changes
  • Co-ordinate all related operational, internal policy compliance risk assessment and define controls
  • Manage product contractual changes and impact on related services levels
  • Provide senior level consolidated reporting of all risks and corrective action plans
  • Lead corrective action plans related to contract governance, product compliance
  • Development Value:
  • Development of leading edge outsourcing services risk management processes
  • Exposure to major UK Insurance and fund clients and industry structure, product and players.
  • Develop deep understanding of SFS Investor Services product set
  • Refine senior level analytical and communication skills
  • Extend network of contacts within SFS, EMEA and its clients


  • Skills

    Knowledge/Experience:
  • Risk management and regulatory compliance knowledge within the UK funds and Insurance industry
  • Senior level Fund Administration Product, Technology, external consultancy, insurance actuarial or compliance background
  • End-to-end product knowledge including regulatory and accounting expertise
  • Strong influencing and communication skills with internal; and client seniors, legal, compliance and Audit
  • Strong understanding of regulation and legal framework for UK Insurance and Funds industry.
  • Experience and ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
  • Excellent Client and internal senior management focused communication skills.

  • A Banking / Accounting/Actuarial / Investment management qualification.
