The Trader will combine dual duties in trading around the asset park and optimize cross border flows within Europe. Positioned on the trading desk, s/he will be aggressive in support of the implementation and execution of wholesale power strategy driving Essent Trading forward towards an asset-backed Merchant Trading House. This position will play a leading role in developing activities of the Short Term Trading desk and will be responsible for several portfolios.

Within the role of Senior Short Term Trader, you will take ownership of the Asset book and be responsible for deriving maximum value out of the fleet's hedging strategy as well as consistently generating profit through the strategic and economic operation of the plant. Core to this will be the willingness and ability to optimize the parks fuel switching capability, maintenance schedules, heat rate changes and ramp up & down rates.

Required Experience

Knowledge:

• Academic thinking and working level. Engineering or Business Administration background is preferable.
• Has over 3 years of trading experience in the electricity or related market.
• Good knowledge of English language.

• Good affinity with ICT.
• Strong Excel and coding skills, VBA et cetera.
• International oriented.

Traders will be proficient in a number of the following skill sets:

Volatility Trading, Shape Trading, Technical and Fundamental, Basis (Commodity, Location, Product, Time), Statistical Arbitrage, Market Making.
