Lead Systems Analyst Fixed Income
Position Description:

Job Summary:

Wellington's Strategic Fixed Income development team provides mission critical applications supporting portfolio construction and management activities. The Lead Systems Analyst will act as the product manager for the Investment View application, which provides holdings data supporting fixed income portfolio management, compliance, and real time reporting. He/she will provide the business vision and requirements for new functionality and extensions to the existing application. This position requires a high level of direct interaction with end users, excellent analytical and communications skills, experience with database technologies including SQL and Oracle, strong Fixed Income knowledge, and effective project management skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Partner with the Fixed Income portfolio managers and compliance staff to define and document new requirements forInvestment View

Champion the user's needs to the software and quality assurance engineers, insuring the 'what' and 'why' are effectively communicated

Assist in the design, testing, and support of the application

Train and educate members of the Fixed Income business.

Work collaboratively with IS and business teams across Wellington (e.g Compliance, Trading, Accounting, Infrastructure)

Document, track, and research production issues and work with appropriate teams on the resolution

Work with Portfolio Managers and Coordinators to prioritize needs and ensure communication to keep them appraised of progress through demo's of prototypes and alpha builds

Job Qualifications:

10 years minimum system analysis experience on large applications.

Rock solid knowledge of Fixed Income instruments and practices, including mortgage backed securities, swaps and other derivatives

Strong knowledge of order management systems, electronic trading practices and markets

Strong analytical skills

Experience writing requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test plans

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Self-motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast paced team environment.

Strong project management, team management, and coordination skills

Familiar with test driven and iterative development.

Experience in writing sql commands and comfort in navigating relational databases.
